In 2002, Tory had a vision to create a long-standing business where young minority men could come to an atmosphere that is comfortable, professional and illuminating. At the time, Tory had a moment of self-reflection. Growing up, he knew how challenging it was for underrepresented populations to gain experience in the work force. It was during that time, he had the idea of building a business, to give young men the opportunity to be become successful.
Tory L. Terrell was born in Peoria, Illinois in 1969. As a young boy, like any other young man during that time, he was very interested in sports and b-boying. After graduating high school, Tory traveled and lived across America from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C and even San Antonio, TX. It was while living in these big cities Tory realized he did not want to work from job-to-job, but that he wanted to build a career.

It was when he was in San Antonio, Texas, Tory started to attend Beauty School. He loved beauty school and he was doing great in the courses until an event happen that would change his life forever. At the age of 22 years old, Tory Terrell was shot in the stomach and rushed to the intensive care unit (ICU). Doctors and family members were not sure that he was going to make it. However, being the fighter that he is Tory fought through and survived. After having almost lost his life, Tory was now more determined than ever to finish beauty school, get his barber license and be a better man for his family and friends.
After this traumatizing event, Tory realized the importance of finishing what you start. He then stayed in San Antonio, finished school and received his barbering license. Tory is the epitome of a hard-working self-business owner that knows the importance you can do whatever you put your mind to.
